Interview Preparation Guidelines
- Introduce Yourself (Include your full name, date of birth, passport no., offer/student ID, etc.)
- Previous education from Grade 10 to the latest with passed year and percentage or GPA
- Gap (Work experience or internship) with details of starting date to end date
- Have you taken any IELTS or PTE or TOEFL? If Yes then when and score please?
- Reasons for not choosing Nepal (Research on available courses, Reasons for not choosing them & value of an international degree over national degree)
- About your intended educational destination (For Example: Why Australia/UK/Canada/…)
- About your course: Full name of course, course structure; no of units, credit points, some core units, professional recognition of course & some potential career outcomes.
- Explain how your proposed course is relevant to your previous academic history: portray a clear vision of how your previous education is related to your intended course. If not, you need to clearly present reason for changing stream and how will it be fulfilling to you?
- Explain how your proposed course is related to your future career plans: A clear career plan & how the course will help you achieve it. It is better to state in short-run and long-run plan. The plan should be based on the current economic circumstances in your home country.
- What job do you intend to look for when you complete your degree? Clearly state your intended occupation. It is better to be specific on jobs and not present a list of job.
- If your intended future occupation is in demand in your home country? What evidence do you have to support this? Present your thoughts clearly with research on the field in the home country.
- What is your expected salary when you commence working after you complete this degree? You can use online websites like salaryexplorer, worldsalaries & present a clear & realistic expectation of future salary in your home country.
- Why have you specifically chosen the university? Clearly state around 3 convincing reasons.
- Have you considered any other universities? If yes, which ones and why did you not choose them? If not, why not?
- What is the TOTAL cost of your tuition fees Plus living expenses for your entire course? How long do you think it will take you to earn this Total amount back when you return home & commence working?
- Briefly explain your financials. (Total ongoing annual income, Education Loan or Fund & Savings)
- What incentives do you have to return back after course completion? Need compelling reasons to return to your home country, please include ties to home country and incentive to return, explain your reasons for returning home after completion of your program. Include as many examples as possible e.g., assets, economic situation, job offer, family responsibilities, relatives, community ties etc. Be sure to include compelling reasons.
- Have you ever had a visa refusal to the country you are applying or any other country? If Yes, what was the reason?
- Have you arranged your Accommodation?
- Are you aware of the work limitations on your Student Visa?
- Rules & regulations of your Student Visa
- What are your living expenses going to be and how will you cover them? Do you plan to finance yourself?
