PTE

PTE stands for Pearson Test of English and is similar to TOEFL, IELTS and TOEIC. It is a computer-based academic English Language test aimed at non-native English speakers wanting to study abroad. The whole test is done in a single session which last for 3 hours and is taken sitting at a computer in a secure test environment. The test is conducted to assess your Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. It often tests 2 skills together such as listening and reading or reading and speaking. In the speaking spart your voice is recorded by the computer and send for marking. The advantage of this test is the result is published much quicker than other Tests as it takes about 5 days only.  Selected institutions can retrieve scores online usually within 48 hours. The cost of this test is about $150-$210, varying according to country.

The test is divided into 3 timed sections, 1 short untimed introduction and an optional 10 minutes break.
